Ywehc and I are thinking about making a trip abroad and were wondering if any guildies with the financial means and a passport would be interested in joining us for a 'raid' on Egypt in August 2010.

Here is a link to the trip:

It would cost you roughly $1,500.00 (excluding international air faire) and would require that you obtain a Visa for your passport to visit Egypt. The place doing the tour is out of the United States. I would attempt to modify the package by phone, really only to be able to stay at this hotel on Day One:

I think it would be really cool to stay that close to the pyramids.

Other considerations would be to take enough spare money to T.I.P. as from what I've cursorily read on the subject, "tipping" is big in Egypt.

This post is to just test the waters (as a trip is so much more fun with more people), especially if we have a history, which we do, since we play this game together.

I was thinking about going somewhere abroad this summer, but I don't know what my financial situation for next semester looks like quite yet. And unfortunately since it depends on our other house selling... I won't know till June at the earliest. We had to move when it burned down 14 months ago, lewl. If it doesn't sell, I'll need to put that 3 grand towards school.

By the way, I had some friends do a study abroad program in Egypt. They mentioned the pyramids being very cool, albeit not at all what they expected. Apparently there is a Pizza Hut immediately across the street.

Edit:
Are you guys/anyone thinking about Blizzcon again?

I've heard Mod and Menger talk about Blizzcon. I know I'm not interested and am going to save vacation time from work for something else (obviously the topic of this post is one consideration).

I urge you to reconsider Egypt. Think Italy. Egypt has only the pyramids... everything else is crumbling and it isn't safe.

I found Italy to be amazing, for what its worth.

Rome was spectacular, very safe to walk around in, and brimming with stuff to do. Venice smelled a little but was even more beautiful and the architecture was incredible if you're into that. We went to Florence too, but it was mainly art museums (not my cup of tea).
